Hi! I'm Maddie and I'm from Bangkok, Thailand. I've been taking photo for five of my six semesters here at Blair. I originally started with portraits and pictures of flowers, but upon also joining the after school photo activity my senior year, I shifted completely to sports photography. During the fall, I focused solely on football and capturing the moments within that. During the winter season, I focused on basketball and wrestling. I attended every game possible, travelling to Hun, St. Benedicts, and Wyoming Seminary to name a few. My sustained investigation illustrates a cohesive narrative of Blair's successful basketball season. My selected works overlap slightly with my sustained investigation, with some other pieces I have created.
Over the past few years, photography for me has been a way for me to freeze time; to really focus in on those moments that would normally blaze by us without being recognized or acknowledged. While my educational photography journey might be over now, the skills and passion I have acquired at Blair will stick with me for as long as I can still click the shutter button or load in a new roll of film.
I'm Machua Muchugia and I've taken photography for four years. This portfolio includes my final works during my senior year. This year I focused on portraiture and experimenting with different materials. This portfolio was an investigation into intimacy in my life and the world around me. Thank you for viewing my work and I hope you enjoy.
My name is Nathan Bo and this is my fourth year taking Photo at Blair. This portfolio includes my final works during my senior year. I leaned heavily into collages, multiple exposures, and motion in this portfolio. I hope you can enjoy some of the work I've created and I will definitely be creating more art in the future.
I am a senior from Blairstown, New Jersey and I have been taking photo since freshman year. Throughout my time, I have most enjoyed manipulating photos physically, ie. through weaving, collaging, and embroidering. I also enjoy working with different colors and juxtaposing them with black and white. My portfolio shows how I have explored these ideas and applied them to a concept that is meaningful to me.
Hi! I am a Blairstown local and have lived in the middle of nowhere my whole life. Thus, I have cultivated a love for the surrounding nature and wildlife. My passion for capturing such beauty was transformed into my AP portfolio where I explored the interaction between nature and humans. I hope that by doing so my community is able to become more aware of the consequences of our actions. I look forward to continuing this work and to advocate through photography for the aspects of our world that are overlooked.
Hi I’m Jules, welcome to my portfolio.
My sustained investigation has shifted from taking self-portraits of my friends to capturing moments of my senior year. I look forward to being able to look back on my AP portfolio and reflect on the memories of my senior year created with my friends. I found shooting in the studio created my best work, as I was able to change the backdrops in the studio and use different lighting techniques to create different types of photos. I look forward to pursuing photography in college and the future.

In my last year of photo, I continued my work with colors. This portfolio is a combination of work from my junior and senior years. After experimenting with film for a part of the year, I realized that my work with color was not only more fun but created work that I am proud of. I'm very glad I ventured back into working with color to end the year and create the full portfolio I had envisioned.

This year as a Senior I was enrolled in a portfolio photo class, or the class after Ap. The goal of this class was to create a portfolio that you're super proud of, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to change my approach. With Covid-19 leaving me without a DSLR camera at home I was forced to think outside the box. I decided to change my portfolio to "Shot on iphone." So all the pictures below were captured using my iphone.

Being able to see the world through your own eyes but also through a lens is eye-opening because it shows you that there is so much more out there than what you can see. This is my completed senior year AP Portfolio.

I graduated Blair in 2018 and I am so happy I chose to take AP Photography. This class gave me a chance to experiment with different perspectives and shutter speeds, and out of those experiments came my Concentration. I also was able to explore different styles of photography that I hadn't before. I never thought of myself a portrait photographer before this class, but by being required to complete different projects I was forced to take more portraits. Now I have some portraits in my Breadth and Concentration and I didn't think I would have any in my portfolio at all.

Born and raised in New Orleans, I found my passion for photography my sophomore year at Blair. Since then, I've grown to appreciate the medium as a way to easily express moments and emotions. My portfolio mostly consists of documentary, street-style photography wherein I captures a moment or person, usually without their knowledge. Everything in this portfolio was shot on Kodak Portra 400 or Ilford HP5 35mm film. I had never used film before my senior year, but I've grown to appreciate it as a different medium than digital photography.
