Life is short, sisters are forever. As life moves on and we all begin to get older, documenting our time together as sisters has never been more important. By capturing portraits of my sisters while on our adventures, I am able to preserve our memories not only for us but for our family and others.
I knew I wanted my sisters and our adventures together to be the main focus of my concentration when I took image 7, a personality portrait of my youngest sister. The texture and candidness of the moment between my sister and our dog is what captured my eye and inspired me to continue with this idea. The images displayed each depict a moment in time that serve as a reminder of our unforgettable adventures together. Image 6 is a photo that I took while we were on a family vacation and I feel that while it preserves a specific memory, it also captures the somber feeling that as time goes on we will be unable to spend a lot of time together. I decided to start my concentration with a self portrait and end with a group portrait of myself and my sisters because both images effectively show how even though the future is uncertain, in the end we will always be sisters.
