Everyone perceives the world differently. My vision revolved around the idea of me being able to show other people how I perceived the world, and share the stories behind my unique perspective. This idea came from my struggle to tell stories verbally. In my search for a way to better tell these stories, I experimented with photography hoping it would help people see through my lens and understand the beauty that I find in the world around me. Throughout this process I have learned not only how to tell stories visually, but also how to tell them through descriptions of my photos.
The first time I experimented with star trails, it came out uninteresting, and poorly exposed. After many more attempts and revisions, I found a spot with reflections and less light pollution to show more stars. The culmination of my work was when I 3D printed a telescope and printed my favorite works onto transparent paper to allow people to look through the telescope at the photos I had selected. This is a physical manifestation of the idea of seeing things through my lens, as people had to pick up my telescope (my lens) and look through it to see the photos I took (the way I see the world).
