Loss, heartbreak, loneliness, everyone feels it. I explored how I could capture various aspects of heartbreak in a photo. Humans are complex beings that handle the idea of heartbreak uniquely. It's fascinating to witness how people navigate these emotions, each person's journey unique yet somehow interconnected with the broader fabric of humanity. My love for human connection and vulnerability led me to explore the intricate ways in which we grapple with love and loss. Through my lens, I aim to reveal the complexity of emotions, inviting viewers to empathize with the human experience.
The processes I focused on the most were ways to capture movement and multiple subjects to showcase the idea of heartbreak. Collages and multiple exposures emerged as central techniques in my portfolio, reflecting my evolving understanding of the subject. Through continual practice, I delved into various methods including low shutter speed (8, 9) and Photoshop manipulation (1, 6). Experimenting with physical and digital collages expanded my toolkit, allowing me to explore the complexities of emotion and narrative in visual form. I grew more adept at capturing the little details in emotions.
