Sustained Investigation
Own your worth, shatter stigmas, rise. The inquiry guiding my investigation of empowering women, confidence, and self-love was multifaceted. I aimed to unravel the nuanced layers of feminine empowerment, exploring how self-assurance connected with inner strength and self-love. Delving deeper, I wanted to capture the diverse narratives of women embracing their unique identities, challenging social norms, and celebrating their inherent worth. Ultimately, the project aimed to spark conversations, provoke introspection, and create a collective appreciation of self-appreciation and authenticity among women of all backgrounds.
I devoted time to practicing various lighting setups and techniques in the studio while sharpening my skills in directing poses and expressions, experimented with creating my own heart set as a foreground, making heart cut outs as props, and revised my approach to composition and storytelling with diptychs, photo essays and process slides as well as reshooting to have photos that evoke a deeper emotional connection on first look. Furthermore, I collaborated with diverse models, which captured a wide range of perspectives on feminine empowerment and gave this project varying narratives.
